Small Victories, a company I co-founded with Jacob Heftmann and Jake Hobart , takes files in a Dropbox folder and turns them into a website.
Built on Ruby on Rails , Small Victories communicates with Dropbox via webhooks and the Dropbox API to automatically build websites based on the theme and files in a users folder. When a user updates a file in one of their Small Victories sites folder, Small Victories automatically rebuilds their site. Users can choose from 10 different themes, setup a custom domain and even password protect their To date Small Victories has over 10,000 users and 10,000 sites.
Small Victories is hosted on AWS, making use of RDS, ElastiCache, SQS and Elastic Beanstalk.
I am currently building a newer, faster version of Small Victories in Go .
